Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Student’s Forum-Maharashtra State Branch has always aimed to bring all pharmacy students under one umbrella & impart experience apart from general academic knowledge. With this aim IPA-SFMSB organized an industrial visit to Amritsar-Dalhousie.

The IV was scheduled from 24th May to 31st May’14. 148 students along with four tour managers departed from Mumbai Central at 21:30 hours and reached Jalandar Cantonment at 4:45 on 27 May. After reaching the destined station, buses drove the students to the Dalhousie place of accommodation where tents & cottages were provided as per the students’ conveniences. After lunch Students left for adventure activities like Monkey Crawling, Rappeling, Valley Crossing and the extremely famous bouts of Maggi.

The next morning, despite of 7°c temperature, students were up and ready for the 20Km trek from the tents to the peak top. A beautiful meadow and a bounty of white lilies awaited the students as they reached up there. Information was also provided on the wild and local varieties of plants found there. Afternoon again provided an opportunity for adventure sports after which leisure time was allotted where students went to the Gandhi Market to get a feel of the local life.

The next morning the students left for Amritsar by 8 and reached Comfort Inn by 15:30 hours.Students had their lunch & went to their rooms to get freshen up for their visit to Jallianwala Baug and the Golden temple. The beauty and serenity of it left everyone stunned.At night, students danced their heart out at DJ night which was followed with a sumptuous Veg/Non Veg dinner
The next morning, the Industrial Visit to Kwality Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd came next where students were given valuable information about the operations of the pharma labs and industries.Students enjoyed their lunch after which they left for Wagha Border. The heat and crowd was unbearable but the discipline of the parade and the patriotism that it imbibed more than made up for it. After that, they headed to Amritsar station, enjoyed a bout of Lassi and headed back home by Golden Temple Express and reached Mumbai at 4:20 on 31 May.

All in the entire journey was most memorable and it was an experience that would’ve been a great loss to miss out on.
