MEGA RALLY by Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Students Forum-Maharashtra State Branch (2014)

Every nook and corner reverberated with these slogans when the pharmacy students representing Indian Pharmaceutical Association walked through the streets of Santacruz(E). The Rally was shown green flag on 12.04.2014 by the Council. This rally, chanting slogans as stated above started from Bombay College of Pharmacy, Kalina to Vakola Bridge. The path followed through Vakola military camp and promoted awareness about voting among the localities. An eyebrow raising crowd of 280 students from 18 colleges of Mumbai and Navi-Mumbai supported the chants.
The rally went peacefully due to the support of Mumbai Police and Traffic Police who were informed prior to the event. Media coverage of the rally took place and prominent newspapers and channels such as ABP maza, DNA, Maharashtra Times covered the event.
The students chanted slogans encouraging people to vote for the coming Lok-sabha elections which caught the attention of the pedestrians and fellow travelers. The students showcased banners and posters promoting the cause helping to build-up the morale of the bystanders. Pamphlets were distributed to the onlookers which included Dos and Don'ts which should be followed during voting thus helping to clear the doubts of voters. It contained points such as, knowing ones areas candidate before voting. It was helpful to mobilize the people to be aware of their voting rights and use the same judiciously. The students also interacted with fellow citizens which created a greater impact.
This rally was very helpful in making the people aware of the voting process and the arrangements made for the voters. Thus the purpose of the rally was successfully delivered and must have surely implanted good thoughts for voting.
